What is Skin Tightening?
Dr. Vu has numerous skin-tightening technologies for the skin of the face, neck, arms, and other areas of the body. Her advanced treatments can restore the firmness and appearance of your skin without surgery.
Using radiofrequency energy, ultrasound energy, or light can achieve firmer, more evenly toned skin. Just think of the skin of your youth when collagen production was at its highest. Wouldn’t you love to see that skin when you look in the mirror today? You can!
Deep layers of the dermis get a boost in collagen and elastin as the body responds to heat from these non-invasive treatments. You will see an improvement in the overall tone of your skin plus strong and smooth skin in many areas of your body. And since the treatment is non-invasive, little to no downtime is required—just a few days before you can go back to your regular beauty routine.
What Areas Can We Treat?
Our skin-tightening treatments can change the skin in many areas of the body. All skin types are eligible for treatment and results are visible immediately after the session. Skin-tightening treatments are especially effective in treating sagging skin on the face due to age or weight loss but don’t stop there; anywhere you find loose skin can benefit from these treatments, like:
- Neck
- Chin
- Jawline
- Chest
- Décolletage
- Arms
- Thighs
- Buttocks
Revive your self-confidence and boost your natural beauty with non-invasive, non-surgical skin tightening options to give you more youthful, firmer-looking skin. Book your appointment online today to start loving your skin again.
What Skin Tightening Treatments Are Available?
SkinZone offers several FDA-cleared skin tightening treatments including:
Ultrasound Energy Treatment
Ultrasound energy is a non-invasive treatment that safely and effectively tightens loose skin by delivering focused ultrasound energy deep beneath the skin. [1] Ultrasound energy helps your skin by accelerating the production of collagen and elastin. These proteins are responsible for maintaining the skin’s firmness and elasticity, which is why ultrasound energy is often used in anti-aging treatments. Additionally, ultrasound energy can help improve blood circulation and reduce inflammation. [2]
Radio Frequency (RF) Energy
Radiofrequency energy heats the skin and stimulates collagen production for a smoother, firmer appearance. Radiofrequency is a safe, non-invasive procedure that helps to reduce or eliminate wrinkles and skin laxity. It is often used to treat areas around the eyes, cheeks, and neck. The procedure typically takes 30 minutes to an hour and the results can usually be seen within a few weeks or months.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)/RF Combo
Intense pulsed light with radiofrequency energy heats the deep layers of the skin to trigger collagen production and stimulate cell renewal. [3] This procedure is used to treat wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, and sun spots. It can also help improve skin texture, tone, and overall appearance. The procedure usually takes about an hour and the results can be seen within a few weeks or months.
With the proper procedure, you can see immediate improvements in your skin’s tone and texture that continue to improve over time. Some treatments may require multiple visits to achieve desired results and we will discuss your treatment plan with you during your consultation. What are the Benefits of Skin Tightening?
Skin tightening can improve your skin’s firmness and tone. Both men and women lose their taut, plump appearance as they age — it’s just a part of life! Still, if given the choice, most people would prefer not to deal with loose, sagging skin.
Non-surgical skin tightening procedures offer:
- Low risk of side effects
- No scarring
- Fast treatment times with no recovery
- Long-lasting results
Furthermore, you will beam when you see how gorgeous your skin looks and feels. These are safe, effective, and convenient ways to help you regain your youthful complexion. Give us a call today to find out more about our skin-tightening options and how they can benefit you and your skin.
Non-Surgical vs. Surgical Benefits
Many patients are not ready for surgery, and often, surgery can only go so far. For example, surgery can tighten the skin, but it can’t improve the overall texture or tone of the skin. Non-invasive treatments are designed to treat a variety of cosmetic issues, from wrinkles and lines to age spots and uneven skin tone. SkinZone treatments also tighten the skin, but in a non-invasive way.
These treatments are also much less expensive than surgery, require no downtime, and have a greater safety profile. Non-surgical skin tightening treatments are ideal for busy professionals or those with a fear of surgery. With this option, you can restore your youthful complexion without the hassle of a lengthy recovery period.
Skin tightening procedures aren’t painful, but topical anesthetics are optional. Plus, the procedures can be done in a comfortable office environment. If these benefits sound good to you, give us a call to start the process.
The Best Candidates for Skin Tightening Treatment
The best candidate for these types of skin-tightening procedures is in good health and between the ages of 30-60. Usually, nonsurgical skin-tightening procedures give great outcomes for many different skin types. If you’re unhappy with how loose and droopy your skin looks, non-surgical treatments will probably work very well for you.
Patients taking particular medications or who have certain medical conditions may not be eligible for skin tightening treatments. Additionally, patients with excess skin or areas of the body needing a dramatic lift may achieve better results with surgical options. Dr. Vu will discuss your options during your consultation.
Personal Consultation
Dr. Vu will want a full understanding of your medical history before determining your treatment plan to achieve optimum results. She will ask you to explain your cosmetic goals for firming your skin so she can recommend the right skin-tightening treatment for you. Once you feel you have the right treatment plan, you can schedule your appointment.
At our practice, we are dedicated to helping you look and feel your best. With the proper care and a well-executed skin-tightening procedure, you can enjoy a much more youthful and vibrant appearance that cements your confidence. Don’t hesitate to contact our office and schedule a consultation today. We look forward to helping you achieve your dream skin. Contact us today to begin your journey toward a more youthful you!
Preparation for Treatment
Preparing for your treatment may mean avoiding certain medications, such as those that increase your risk of bleeding or bruising. In some cases, you may need to take a few at-home steps to ensure optimal results. Once you make your appointment, we will provide you with detailed instructions on how to best prepare for your treatment.
The Procedures
Rejuvenate your skin with non-surgical skin tightening treatments at SkinZone Laser & Cosmetic Surgery. Here’s what you can expect from our different treatment options:
The Ultrasound Procedure
During an ultrasound skin tightening treatment, a handheld device is used to emit ultrasound energy into the skin. Ultrasound skin tightening treatments are generally short and painless. They can be performed at one of Dr. Vu’s two locations with little to no downtime.
What to Expect During RF Treatment
During your RF treatment, the technician will place a handheld device near the area of your skin that needs treatment. The device will emit radiofrequency energy, which heats up the deeper layers of your skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production. You may feel a slight warming sensation as the energy is applied, but it should not be painful.
IPL
With IPL (intense pulsed light), Dr. Vu will use a handheld device to direct pulses of light directly onto the skin; this light energy is absorbed by the pigmentation in the skin, which causes it to break apart and gradually fade away. [3] Then the light energy helps stimulate the growth of collagen and elastin, which in turn firms and tightens your skin. You may feel a slight warming sensation as the energy is being applied, but it is easily tolerated.
Recovery After Skin Tightening Treatments
After your treatment, you may have some redness and mild swelling in the treated area for a few days, but it should subside quickly, and you can return to your normal activities shortly thereafter.
We recommend that you use sunscreen when going outdoors to protect the skin from sun damage. Over the next few weeks, you should begin to notice an improvement in your skin’s texture and tone as it becomes firmer and tighter. You should schedule follow-up treatments to ensure the best possible results.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
What are the Results of Skin Tightening?
When you receive skin tightening treatment for the face, you will see improvements in the tone and texture of your skin, as well as a reduction in wrinkles. You can expect to see further gradual improvements over time. Most patients experience a significant tightening effect after just one session, though you may need to come back for follow-up treatments to maintain the results.
On your body, you will notice a tightening of the skin contours and an improvement in the tone of your skin. Results vary from person to person, so it is important to follow Dr. Vu’s instructions for the best possible outcome. Make sure to also follow a healthy skincare routine and sun protection, and come back for touch-ups as needed.
